WANTED  `Friends of Henley Dunes'

This past year has been an eventful one in which the Henley Dunes Care Group has worked with over 100 volunteers to plant 1100 native tube stock into the Dunes, plus we have established a temporary low fence together with Keep Off the Dunes signage.  About 70% of the plants have survived despite it being the hottest January on record and the driest summer in 30+ years. However, there is much more work to be done and we need your HELP.  This year we anticipate planting more native plants, continuing to remove weeds, hand water, remove rubbish to keep our beach and dunes clean,  hosting more educational school visits plus working with other environmental organisations.

Running a Dune Care volunteer group is not without costs.  These include tools & maintenance, training, websites and marketing, subscriptions to organisations such as LandcareSA and Trees for Life, community events and education, newsletters and working with schools and students.

Our volunteers have been wonderful and we thank each and every one of them.  However, we recognise that there are many people who would like to be involved but cannot for various reasons.  We invite you to be a `Friend  of the Henley Dunes Care Group' by contributing to our fund raising page, courtesy of our legal auspice Landcare Australia.  All donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided.
